How Concrete Resurfacing Works
A question we often get is, "So what exactly is concrete resurfacing?"
Concrete resurfacing is the act of taking your old
concrete and giving it a face lift. Generally, existing concrete can be stained,
polished, or resealed to improve its look.
If your concrete is
just too beat up, a concrete overlay - a skim coat of concrete we
pour over your old concrete - creates a fresh canvas from where to
start.
Any of the above can be colored and textured to create the look you want.
The confusion over concrete resurfacing is the amount of
information out there. There is no one way to change your concrete pool deck,
living room, kitchen floors, or driveway. That's why at Coolstone Concrete
Design we always tell our clients that the look they want determines how we do
it.
Concrete resurfracing may include any or all of these things:
1.
Concrete grinding or polishing
2. Concrete overlays up to 1/4" thick
3.
Concrete acid staining
4. Concrete dyes
5. Pigmented acrylic resins
6.
Concrete sealers of various types
7. Epoxy
Any of the products above can create a rich, sophisticated look, natural antique, and everthing inbetween. We
use concrete products that are super-strong, eco-friendly, and non-toxic to kids and pets. And we
do our best to minimize dirt and dust during installation.
